If the screen goes all white it's because the Hilltop Software Window page didn't load fully. Here are two things you can do to resolve the issue without IT involvement. 

1. Swipe from left to right on the screen. This will let you see all the icons in the window. Then you can close out of the white screen by pressing the "X"

2. You can hard shutdown the device by holding the power button.
