We have a new remote work solution! This solution is designed to make things simpler and more convenient. When you’re connected to the VPN, you can use your computer just like you do at the office.

Connecting to the VPN

Open the Azure VPN Client app from the Windows Start Menu

Click on “Connect” next to HilltopVPN

We recommend pinning Azure VPN client to your taskbar for easy access.

Using the VPN

When connected to the VPN, you should use the following applications locally on your computer, not on Hilltop Remote: Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, F: Drive, H: Drive, Adobe (Pro and Reader), Chrome, Hilltop Software Window, UKG Pro (UltiPro), MyUnity (Vision), FullCount, other web-based applications, Webex, etc.

Of course, some applications use the Hilltop Software Window even when you are in the office and the same is true when using the VPN. You can access the following applications by going to hilltopsoftware.htop.org in Internet Explorer, just as if you were at the office: Great Plains, Forecaster, Management Reporter, Smart Connect, Access Apps (SDB Billing App, Vectra, All Things Data, etc.), FundRaiser, HVAC, Visio, Project.

Signing in

Once a day, you will get an authentication prompt.   When it appears, click on your email and then click Continue. If you are at home you should also get an MFA prompt.

When the circle is green, you are connected.

You can now minimize the app with the ‘-’ button in the top right corner. As long as it is open in the background you will be connected.

When your work is finished, click on the app on the taskbar and then click Disconnect

Password Changes

While connected to the VPN, press Ctrl + Alt + delete

Click change Password

Enter your current password in the ‘Old password’ field and your new password in the ‘New Password’ and ‘Confirm Password’ fields and press enter.

If the VPN still won’t connect, restart the computer

If your password is changed somewhere else, login to your computer with your old password, make sure the VPN is connected, wait 2 minutes, lock the computer, then log in with your new password.
