Background

In some instances, particularly where the client is not synchronizing files properly, there are steps to take to resolve the issue.

Close and Reopen OneDrive Sync Client

  1. Locate the Cloud icon in color blue near the clock in the taskbar:
  2. Click on the cloud icon to reveal more information about the activity of the client and reveal the Settings icon (the gear):
  3. Click on Settings icon then click the option to Quit OneDrive
  4. After clicking on Quit OneDrive, confirm by clicking Close OneDrive
  5. Click on the Start Button and if visible, click on OneDrive or start to type One and it should be one of the top options then click on it
  6. Stand by for a minute while it reinitializes

If This Does Not Fix It

  1. Click on the Start Button and start to type power then click on PowerShell or Windows PowerShell
  2. Enter in the following to the PowerShell Window:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset
  3. Press Enter to run it
  4. Stand by while it reinitializes and resynchronizes.  This may take quite a while.
